Imagine waking up one day to find out you’ve been lied to your whole life. You wake to find out that race isn’t real. You find out you have been duped by the powers that be to believe you are inherently superior to others, to vote against your interests, to hold hatred in your heart. That must be a hard pill to swallow. It’s a tough reality check. We must allow people the grace they need to come to this realization. We need them to deal with the pain. We need them to heal. We need them to join the coalition for truth, justice, and change.
How do we onboard people into this journey of healing? How do we move them from hatred of others, to uncovering the lie, to dealing with pain, to working toward justice?
